Haarlem Grote Markt
Loading…Every Saturday, the historic Grote Markt in Haarlem comes alive beneath the towering St. Bavo Church (the “Grote Kerk”). From around 9:00 to 17:00, the square fills with stalls selling everything from Dutch cheeses and fresh flowers to artisan breads, clothing, and local delicacies. The Grote Markt is surrounded by the church and the town hall, and it’s within easy walking distance of Haarlem Central Station, with plenty of cafés nearby for a coffee break afterward. It’s considered the largest and liveliest of Haarlem’s weekly markets, popular with both locals doing their weekly shopping and visitors browsing for something to eat. Popular cheese and bread stalls tend to sell out before noon, so it’s worth going early if you want the best selection.

Great market that we go to on Saturdays. We love the honey stand that sells honey straight from a local honey farm in the Netherlands. We also buy coffee from Barts Beans and sour dough bread from the Bakery if you’re early enough.
