South Africa's oldest wine estate, founded in 1685 by Simon van der Stel, set on a historic Cape Dutch homestead surrounded by vineyards and mountains. Visitors can join cellar tours, do seated tastings in the tasting room, browse the retail shop, and eat at the on-site Jonkershuis or Simon's restaurants. The manor house also holds a museum covering the estate's colonial-era history.
