Backsberg is a De Villiers/Back family-owned estate on the slopes of the Simonsberg, noted as one of South Africa's carbon-neutral wine producers. Visitors can taste in the estate's tasting room, enjoy platters or bring picnics onto the lawns, and take self-guided walks through the vineyards. The Back family has been making wine here since the 1920s.
